Partner

Jeff Hershberg articled and worked for Pinkofskys Criminal Trial and Appeal Lawyers following his Call to the Bar. He became a partner at Pinkofskys in 2008; the quickest any lawyer had been made partner at the prestigious firm.

He is now a partner at Rusonik, O’Connor, Robbins, Ross, & Angelini, LLP.

Since starting his legal career, Jeff has appeared at all levels of trial courts in Ontario as well as at the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Jeff Hershberg practices exclusively in criminal and quasi-criminal law. He has a particular interest in possession-related offences including those revolving around firearms, other weapons, and drugs.

Jeff is an avid believer in the values entrenched in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and as a result he ensures that all accused persons receive a fair trial and the best possible defence.

Jeff is known for not backing down in court and has achieved numerous acquittals and crown withdrawals.

Jeff successfully challenged the mandatory minimum sentence for first time offenders possessing a loaded firearm. The impact of the trial decision in R. v. Smickle impacted cases across the country.

He has defended individuals charged with large scale drug trafficking, alleged gang members charged with criminal organization offences (“Project Flicker”, “Project XXX” and “Project Kryptic”, and “Project Corral”), firearm possession and other related offences, failure to comply with bail/probation and attending court, driving offences, assaults, weapons offences, theft and various other offences.

Other notable cases include getting over five ounces of cocaine seized from a motor vehicle excluded in Superior Court, several kilograms of fentanyl stayed in the Ontario court of Justice, and the exclusion of a number of weapons and drugs in cases where police flagrantly breached the Charter Rights of his clients.

Jeff prides himself on always being available for his clients and is always reachable by phone and email.
